What Types of Breast Surgery Does BECA offer?
BECA surgeons provide a variety of exciting breast procedures to meet the diverse needs of our domestic and international clientele, including breast augmentation, breast lift, breast augmentation with lift, breast reduction and breast revision surgery.
Breast Augmentation
The world’s most popular cosmetic procedure, more than 1,700,000 breast augmentation procedures were performed in 2013, with the United States, Brazil and Mexico leading the way, according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Breast augmentation can be performed with saline, silicone or highly cohesive silicone implants.
There are three incision approaches available, depending on the individual patient’s needs:
- inframmary (under the crease of the breast)
- periareolar (around the areola)
- transaxillary (in the crease of the underarm)
At BECA we prefer the transaxillary approach because no scar is left on the breast. During your initial consultation you and your surgeon will decide which type of implant, incision type and implant placement best fits your anatomical needs. Breast augmentation is usually performed as an outpatient procedure at an accredited hospital or surgical center.
Breast Lift
The unfortunate truth is, our bodies all suffer the effects of age. As time goes by, genetic predisposition, pregnancy, breastfeeding, large weight fluctuations, and other factors can cause the breasts to lose their natural firmness and elasticity. The skin of the breast and the skin of the abdomen are designed to be pregnant so that the breast can grow during puberty and the skin of the breast and abdomen can relax during pregnancies to accommodate the growth of the baby and breast feeding. As a result, the breasts begin to sag.
